From the Infronts: FOX, ABC, CBS, and the CW have their infronts with the advertisers starting today through Thursday, but announcements are already starting to come out at a furious pace. First concerning the current shows: Chuck, as previously rumored, has received a pickup for a third season. NBC has picked thirteen episodes of the fan favorite after its production company Warner Brothers agreed to cut the budget to keep costs down. Also, beating all odds, FOX’s Dollhouse has secured a renewal. Despite its low ratings, FOX agreed to pick it up for another thirteen episodes, but also insisted on some budget cuts to keep it more affordable. However, that network did not elect to bring back Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles which saw a significant downturn in its ratings during its second season and word is that its production company, also Warner Brothers, is not shopping it around to other venues either. Medium, which previous rumors suggested NBC would bring back, may end up jumping ship to CBS. Word is that renewal talks have bogged down and that the eye network, which produces the show, may decide to find a slot on their schedule for the supernatural drama. No word has come out yet on the fate of Eleventh Hour and as expected ABC has cancelled new series Cupid.

New pickups: ABC has given the greenlight to a reboot of the 80’s V franchise which began as a mini-series then went on to became a short-lived weekly drama. They have also picked up Eastwick, based on the movie The Witches of Eastwick. The alphabet network previously made the announcement of the pickup of Flash Forward. Stay tuned this week as we continue to report updates from the infronts and as we prepare the full schedule of next season’s Science Fiction and Fantasy shows.

Supernatural to End after 5th Season? The CW has already renewed Supernatural for another season, but word is that series creator and executive producer Eric Kripke would like for the show to end its run when next season concludes. He claims that he always saw the show as a five season arc and would prefer to go ahead and put it to rest after it reaches that milestone. The show has done quite well for the CW, so they may prefer to keep it going, but he plans to move on if they do. And series stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki may follow him as well. Ultimately, it will come down to how much money the network will throw their way to keep the show running (allegedly Chris Carter planned on ending the X-Files after five season, but FOX kept it going for nine). At this point, though, we know that we have at least one more season of the brothers and their battles with demons.
